THE IMMIGRATION CRISIS

The global immigration crisis impacts millions, fueling constant political contention and deep division. Living in the Rio Grande Valley, it is easy to go about our daily lives neglecting the problem and even forgetting it exists, rendering the millions of refugees and their unique challenges invisible. This year, The Invisible Project is focusing on capturing the voices and stories of immigrant families who have faced tremendous hardships and demonstrated incredible resilience. Their experiences are a poignant reminder of the human side of the immigration crisis, often overshadowed by political debates and media sensationalism.

Regardless of political beliefs and opinions on the border wall, the immigration crisis is real and not likely to disappear anytime soon. Moving beyond political barriers and treating people with dignity and compassion is crucial as millions are affected by our undeniably broken system. We all share the common values of humanity and empathy, and opening a dialogue to candidly discuss differing perspectives while prioritizing the wellbeing of refugees is ever more relevant in a polarized society.

We invite you to reflect on your preconceived notions and keep an open mind as we explore the crisis together. As The we share stories and photographs of asylum-seekers on the US-Mexico Border, we hope to continue the narrative that the invisible deserve to be heard and seen. Through their voices, we can begin to understand the true impact of the immigration crisis and work towards a more compassionate and just world..
